7th Annual Channel Islands Harbor Food & Toy Drive

About this event

The Ventura County Harbor Department and Harbor & Beach Community Alliance (HBCA) are teaming up to spread holiday cheer this season by hosting the 7th Annual Holiday Food & Toy Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at the Harbor Landing parking lot off Harbor Boulevard.

The Holiday Food & Toy Drive will benefit Food Share of Ventura County and Toys for Tots , a charitable program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve that helps bring the joy of Christmas to children in need by distributing new toys during the holiday season.

On the day of the event, donations will be accepted at the Harbor Landing parking lot, located at the intersection of Channel Islands Boulevard and Harbor Boulevard. Volunteers will be on hand to safely collect donations and ensure food and toys are delivered to Food Share of Ventura County and Toys for Tots.

The goal is to raise a “boat load” of food and toys to help local families during the holidays. In addition, monetary donations to Food Share will be matched up to $15,000. Cash and checks may be made payable to “Food Share of Ventura County” and dropped off on December 5. Donations can also be made online by visiting www.foodshare.com/harbor .

Items Needed

The drive will include both food and toy donations to double the spirit of the holidays and help make the season brighter for families in need.

According to Food Share, the top five most-needed food items are canned tuna, chicken and salmon; non-sugar cereals; dry and canned beans; rice in 1- to 2-pound bags or mixes; and peanut butter. However, all non-perishable food items are welcome.

Those wishing to donate toys are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment. Toy donations will benefit Toys for Tots and help bring holiday smiles to children throughout the community.
