Good morning, Oxnard.
🏘️ Community
During Autism Acceptance Month, the Oxnard Police Department raised over $4,000 by selling patches and T-shirts at local spots such as Downtown Farmers Market and Raising Cane's to support autism awareness and acceptance.
The funds have helped sustain free art classes, family events and adult social groups that build understanding between police and community members.
🏛️ Government
Local politicians and agricultural leaders in Oxnard condemned ICE tactics after a video showed agents chasing farmworkers in strawberry fields, saying the actions instill fear and undermine due process—community members now call for stricter limits to protect immigrant workers.
Protests and public statements have intensified as officials stress that these enforcement measures threaten essential local industries.
