- ➤ A 26-year-old runner was seriously injured in a hit and run on the 3700 block of Pacific Coast Highway on June 15 and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center, where she remains in intensive care after suffering severe injuries including a broken femur and tibias, while police arrested a 48-year-old suspect from Bakersfield on June 19. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oxnard Police Department enforces a strict ban on all fireworks and is increasing patrols, drone surveillance, and warning mailings in the lead-up to July 4, following 2024’s 858 calls and 56 citations. Officers will target repeat violators and use message trailers (with fines ranging from $250 for safe items to $1000 for dangerous ones) in coordinated operations (including undercover night efforts) to protect the community.
