A CSU Channel Islands study shows that each foot of sea level rise will cost California 100 beach access sites, with 15% of Ventura County and 40% of Santa Barbara County spots set to vanish by the end of the century.

Associate Professors Dan Reineman and Kiersten Patsch built an interactive map to show where access points and amenities like parking and picnic areas will be lost—and they say natural coastal features may help protect some beaches if hard sea walls are avoided.
