  • On July 31st at 5:50 p.m., Oxnard police arrested 56-year-old Benjamin Cambaliza after he brandished a loaded 9-millimeter semi-automatic handgun during a road rage incident near Fifth St. and Rice Avenue — a vehicle search later led to the detention of his passenger for narcotics violations and signs of impairment.  Vida Newspaper

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Port Hueneme City Councilmember Laura Hernandez filed a small claims defamation lawsuit against Police Chief Michael Federico on July 16—accusing him of spreading false claims that hurt her reputation. The trial is set for Aug. 21 and Hernandez seeks $12,500 while council members say city business continues as usual.  Ventura County Star
