➤ A Camarillo man—Rotherie Foster, 39—faces 35 felony charges including two counts of murder after a seven-day preliminary hearing ended Sept. 4 and he pleaded not guilty, with arraignment set for Oct. 2 while he remains in jail without bond. Ventura County Star

➤ On September 5th, 2025, civil rights activist Dolores Huerta attended the ribbon cutting of Dolores Huerta Gardens, a new 58-unit housing project for farmworkers and veterans in Oxnard. Local leaders including Chumash elder Julie Tumamait-Stenslie and Oxnard Harbor District president Jess Ramirez supported the event—emphasizing efforts to expand affordable housing.
