- ➤ Oxnard College unveiled a colorful mural on Sept. 25 to mark its 50th anniversary—alumna Elissa Torres designed the artwork that covers walls in Condor Hall and shows students, a farmworker, Chumash elder Julie Tumamait-Stenslie and labor leader Larry Itliong. Ventura County Star
- ➤ Channel Islands High School broke ground for a new pool at its south Oxnard campus on September 24. The pool will serve the swim and water polo teams and offer free community swim lessons, while construction will finish in December 2026 and cost between $23 million and $25 million—funded by Measure E.
