- ➤ Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture is offering sustainably-grown silver-tipped fir trees in its 'Christmas On The Ranch' fundraiser to support no-cost agriculture education and healthy eating programs for Ventura and Santa Barbara youth. The hand-harvested trees cost $100 each and range from 6 to 10 feet tall—available at local pickup sites in Saticoy, Ojai, Camarillo, and Santa Maria—while some trees will be donated to families in need. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ventura County Animal Services reported that 21 bats tested positive for rabies this year—an increase from six last year and four in 2023—and no human cases have been recorded; officials urge residents to never touch bats and to keep pets vaccinated. Ventura County Star
